An introduction to the creative industries
Online awareness training for careers professionals
Via Zoom, duration: 60 minutes
The creative industries are everywhere – they exist in the clothes we wear, the films we watch, the museums we visit, the buildings around us, the games on our phones, the ads we encounter and much more. Given this, it’s no surprise that the world-leading sector accounts for 2.3 million jobs, 200,000 more than there were in 2019 before the pandemic.
With a hybrid programme of activities, Discover Creative Careers informs and inspires young people and those that support their decision-making about careers in the creative industries, to ensure skills shortages and gaps are filled by a skilled workforce from all backgrounds.
We aim to bust common misconceptions about what a career in the creative industries looks like, showcase job roles that are often unknown to many and explain what skills and qualifications young people need to succeed in those careers when they leave school.
Delivered in partnership with the Careers and Enterprise Company and the Careers Development Institute, our online awareness training has been designed for professionals who inform young people about their career choices.
The free 60 minute training session will cover:
- Understanding the creative industries – who and what are we?
- Working in the sector – what does this look like?
- How you can help – let’s work together to ensure young people are well informed about the job roles and pathways within the creative industries
Upcoming dates:
Tuesday 17th October 2023, 5.30pm - 6.30pm | Register your free place
