Overview
About the opportunity
Graphic design touches everything young people interact with - from the apps on their phones to the trainers they wear, the games they play, and the adverts they scroll past. But most students don’t realise how many different careers sit behind the visuals they see every day. These workshops are designed to open their eyes to the possibilities. Each one is interactive and built to be inspiring as well as practical.
Students won’t just hear about jobs - they’ll try out the skills needed, uncover the hidden roles, and see how creativity connects to the real world.
To show students that design is more than visuals - it’s about people, problem solving, and communication.
To highlight that qualifications are important, but transferable skills can also open doors.
Format (50 minutes)
• Role-play activity: “The confusing client brief.”
• Design Team: Students act as the design team, asking questions to uncover what the client really needs.
• Group debrief: what worked, what didn’t, what questions mattered most.
• Discussion: soft skills like listening, teamwork, and adaptability are just as important as technical skills.
