About the opportunity

Gwent Archives is a local authority archive service based in Ebbw Vale. The service works to collect, preserve and ensure the long-term access to the historic records of Blaenau Gwent, Torfaen, Monmouthshire, Newport and Caerphilly. Starting from 1200, our collections include local authority records, school records, hospital records, business records, estate records, and individual's personal papers such as letters and diaries.

We support everyone to access our collections whether its via our Research Room, or online via our catalogues, digitised records and social media platforms, or through supporting heritage or creative projects. See behind the scenes of Gwent Archives - discover how we make our records accessible, how we store our records in our Strongrooms and care for our records in our Conservation Studio. There may even be the opportunity to handle some original documents!

Opportunity available on Mondays or Fridays
