About the opportunity

Ffion Pritchard is a local artist and facilitator whose work focuses on the benefit of the arts within society, whether that be through community work, art in healthcare or the cathartic power of storytelling. Since graduating from Brighton University with First Class Honors in Illustration in 2017, Ffion's practice has remained broad and eclectic, spanning film, paint and commercial illustration. In the world of film, Ffion worked as a content creator for HANSH, and the online subsidiary of S4C, in 2020-2021, Since then, she has written, produced and directed titles for clients such as BBC Cymru, Moving Parts International Puppet Festival, AM and Wicked Wales, from the Best Documentary Program from Wales Award at the Focus Wales Film Festival, the Mixed Media Award at Ephemere, London, and several international film festival screening. Participatory work is Ffion's true passion, with extensive experience of working with groups such as babies and toddlers, youth clubs, dementia cafes and various charities. Ffion works part-time as a creative support officer for GISDA, a charity that provides support for homeless or vulnerable young people, as well as her freelance participatory practice and her studies on the Arts, Health and Well-being MA program at the University of South Wales. In this workshop, a 'stop motion' method will be used to explore identity and sense of ourselves. Together, we will design puppets of ourselves, create an atmosphere for them, and create a short story to give context to our characters. Equipment that the school needs for the workshop • I would bring 2 cameras with me, but if there are ipads in addition it would be great! • Coloured paper • Scissors • Felt pins • Any paraphernalia such as feathers, pom poms, pipe cleaners that will be available would be great! • Cardboard
