How THE HOUSE OF RADHA Inspired Scotland's Next Generation of Creatives
Every conversation has the power to shape a future. Between January and March 2026, the award-winning creative platform THE HOUSE OF RADHA—where fashion, art, music, and education meet—led an inspiring series of career events and interactive workshops across Ayrshire and Edinburgh.
By the Creative Careers Collective
Delivered as part of the Discover Creative Careers, the programme engaged young people aged between 9-18, bringing real-world industry insights to demystify the creative sector and prove that a passion for creativity can lead to a sustainable, professional career.
At the heart of the Ayrshire Futures events, THE HOUSE OF RADHA hosted a dedicated Creative Careers Exhibition Stand. This welcoming hub served as an open space for students, parents, carers, and educators to explore the many pathways into the creative industries through open conversations and personalised careers advice. The exhibition focused on key structural goals:
- Introduced young people to the wide range of careers within fashion, art, design, music, media, marketing, events, branding, entrepreneurship, and the wider creative sector.
- Shared the journey of Founder Radha Singh, CEO and Creative Director of THE HOUSE OF RADHA, demonstrating that there is no single route into a successful creative career.
- Provided tailored advice on education pathways, further study, work experience, volunteering, networking, and developing transferable skills.
- Engaged with parents and guardians, helping to challenge misconceptions and demonstrating that creative careers offer professional and sustainable opportunities.
- Connected with colleges, educators, government representatives, and partner organisations to discuss progression routes and future collaboration.
An interactive workshop, NextGen Creatives: Pathways & Employability Skills for the Creative Industries, gave students an authentic insight into building a creative business while exploring the skills employers value most.
During the session, students heard about the entrepreneurial journey behind THE HOUSE OF RADHA and the realities of building a multi-award-winning British fashion, art, and music brand. Speakers introduced key employability skills including communication, teamwork, resilience, creativity, and problem-solving, and participants were encouraged to think creatively through interactive discussions and practical activities that linked classroom learning with industry experience.
Finally, a fast paced, “Hire Me in 60 Seconds” session challenged students to step outside their comfort zones by pitching themselves as future members of a creative team.
Participants prepared and delivered a 60-second personal pitch explaining why they should be hired into a creative or business role, on which they received constructive feedback designed to build confidence and improve self-presentation. Through the session, students learnt how to identify and confidently articulate their transferable skills and personal strengths whilst developing their communication, public speaking, interview, and networking skills.
The impact of these events reached far beyond the exhibition stand and workshop sessions. Every conversation helped young people see that creativity can become a career, not simply a hobby. Many students left with a clearer understanding of the opportunities available, greater confidence in their own abilities, and practical knowledge about the next steps they could take towards achieving their ambitions.
The programme also played an important role in engaging parents and guardians, providing reassurance that the creative industries offer viable, professional, and sustainable career pathways. These conversations helped build stronger support networks around young people as they make important education and career decisions.
The events strengthened relationships between industry, colleges, schools, educators, and partner organisations, creating opportunities for future workshops, mentoring, and collaborative projects that will continue to support the next generation of creative talent.
By planting these seeds of possibility early, THE HOUSE OF RADHA and Discover Creative Careers are helping nurture more informed, confident, and creatively ambitious generation, empowering young people to believe that their ideas, talents, and creativity can shape meaningful and successful futures.
