This brand new film from fashion designer and content creator Priscillia Okpan (Kim Dave) takes the audience on a whistlestop tour of her career journey – from those initial inspiring moments as a teenager to the various steps that have landed her where she is today as the founder and director of her own fashion and lifestyle brand, Kim Dave.
In the film we meet the many creatives who have supported the process, highlighting the importance of collaboration as well as lifting the lid on the wide range of roles and skills - also see a detailed account of Priscilla taking us through the making of a garment – taking it from idea and textile design to the sewing table and final reveal at a photo shoot.
The film has been produced as part of the Discover! Creative Careers programme, delivered by ScreenSkills. It has been made by Priscillia Okpan with Little Dot Studios and enabled by funding from YouTube through their partnership with Discover! Creative Careers.
The partnership first launched in November 2024 and aims to lift the lid on the creative industries through collaborations with content creators who share the joint ambition to inspire young people from all backgrounds about the careers available across the sectors.
The film will be launched at a live event in London on 28th November where young fashion students will have a chance to hear more from Priscillia and some of her collaborators, before being invited to ask questions and share their own portfolios.
The event takes place at the end of Discover! Creative Careers Month, an annual event that sees industry engage 11-18 year olds through inspiring careers encounters across the creative industries, alongside a strategic awareness campaign led by the programme’s funders, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).
