About the opportunity
Discover your passion for craft at the Museum of Making!
Derby Museums invites you to bring your students (Years 8-13) to an immersive half-day workshop, in partnership with Heritage Crafts.
Meet inspiring crafters pioneering traditional techniques like blacksmithing, lace making, shoe making and more. Learn skills first-hand and discover diverse careers in industries you may have never imagined.
This interactive session gives opportunities to:
- Learn about endangered crafts that shape our cultural heritage
- Try 2x craft techniques hands-on, in small groups, guided by specialists
- Chat with makers about their career journeys and day-to-day work
- Ignite creativity and find your calling in the arts
Times:
Am option: 9:15am – 11:45pm Pm option: 12:15pm – 2:45pm No’s of Pupils: Groups of 6 – 8 pupils
Evening Sot: 4pm - 6pm open to Adults and families as a drop in.
