Thousands of young people across England will be taking part in careers activities with hundreds of creative industry employers during Discover! Creative Careers Week 2024, 18th – 22nd November
Highlights include:
- LW Theatres welcoming 1000 students to see behind-the-scenes constructions of the Phantom of the Opera.
- Hertfordshire Futures, working with are range of companies, to run a series of careers fairs at local colleges with a reach of around 1000 students.
- HEY Creative - the cultural compact for Hull and East Yorkshire, running events through the week to engage their whole region.
- A group of agencies including Zeno, Hope & Glory, Taylor Herring, Speed, Grayling North, Tin Man and Golin, partnering with seven secondary schools to give students hands on experience of working in the communicationss sector.
- Organisations making video case studies with young people and creating resources to share on our website. Including a youth project The Warren, Lewisham Education Arts Network, Get into Theatre and Kids in Museums / Group for Education in Museums.
- Many organisations engaging with more than one school; including Magna Vitae Cultural Trust in Lincolnshire who are working with 10 schools on their SO Festival.
- Organisations engaging with teachers and careers leaders. Ravensbourne University are delivering an in-person CPD event for 50 teachers.
- An exclusive music video launch event in the North of England.
The DiscoverCreative.Careers website offers a suite of industry-led lesson plans and resources to support careers provision and encourages young people to access the careers finder, home to over 500 job profiles provided by industry.
Discover Creative Careers programme partners Creative UK are running an industry-backed campaign targeting parents and carers which shows leading creatives talking about their journey to their career; supporting and encouraging young people to consider a career in the sector.
