Announcing Discover! Creative Careers Month November 2025

We’re excited to announce that Discover! Creative Careers Week 2025 will be expanded to a month-long programme this November, giving industry and schools greater opportunities to forge connections and offer more 11-18 year olds vital encounters with creative industry careers.

Discover! Creative Careers Month is industry’s opportunity to inspire the future workforce by showcasing their company, team, roles and sector pathways. This year, we want to see as many creative industry employers as possible provide invaluable in-person experiences, either at the workplace or in school. If that’s not possible there are still several ways to get involved, find out more.

The month-long event will remain free for schools and young people to access, with registration for both schools and industry open now. The programme will once again collaborate with Speakers for Schools on a series of virtual events.

The announcement comes as part of a major programme-wide expansion for 2025 – 2026 following increased investment from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, which will see pilot projects across two other nations*, a new work experience scheme delivered by Mission Accomplished, continued year-round resources and events plus more to come.

Discover! Creative Careers is currently delivered by ScreenSkills, in collaboration with over 25 industry representatives, trade bodies and careers specialists.

Discover! Creative Careers Programme Lead Mary Rose said “Our mission is to ensure that every young person has access to the information, advice and guidance they need to consider a career in the creative industries. Our goal is to remove barriers to access and reach those young people who are often overlooked. By doing so, we hope to inspire and encourage talented young people from different  backgrounds, bringing a range of experiences and perspectives. We are looking to bring in even more industry employers to provide encounters during 2025 and join our programme and partner events.”

Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy said: “With a huge range of exciting and fulfilling careers in our world-leading creative industries now on offer, it is so important that all young people - regardless of background - have the skills, tools and opportunities to pursue this if they wish. “The expansion of the Discover! Creative Careers Programme will ensure that thousands of young people across the UK have the opportunity to be inspired as they start to think about life beyond their core education."

*Please note, tenders for organisations based in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland to develop and deliver the planned expansion programmes will open by mid May. The 2025 – 2026 government-funded programme will support expansion to two nations, with an ambition for a UK-wide programme in the future.
