Discover! Creative Careers Week 2023

Discover! Creative Careers Week returns this year from 13th - 17th November 2023.

Discover! Creative Careers Week 2023 will encourage employers from across the creative industries to open their doors to thousands of young people aged 11-18 for industry-led, interactive encounters.

Supported by various resources and an online programme led by Speakers for Schools, Discover! week will help schools and colleges meet several Gatsby benchmarks and ensure industry plays an active role in securing a strong, skilled and diverse workforce for the future.

Registration for industry hosts and schools/colleges who want to take part in the 2023 Discover! Creative Careers Week is now open, find out more and register at the links below.

Registration deadline: Friday 6th October

Please note: We are funded to support schools in 77 priority areas, identified as those facing the greatest disadvantage. We aim to reach students with the least access to industry encounters and opportunities, and encourage these schools to register.  You can see the full list of priority areas here.

About Discover! Creative Careers Week 2019 and 2021

The first Discover! Creative Careers Week took place in November 2019. The England-wide event inspired students aged 11+ about the types of roles and career pathways available across the creative industries. Companies offered a range of practical experiences, from workshops, demonstrations, interactive tours, panel discussions and ‘The Apprentice’ style challenges.

Those that opened their doors included the National Trust, BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Pinewood Studios, Northern Ballet & Phoenix Dance Theatre, Channel 4, Norwich Theatre Royal, Birmingham Museums Trust, Cockpit Arts, the Financial Times, Kudos TV, The National Archives, xsite Architecture, Royal Exchange Theatre Manchester, The Historic Dockyard Chatham, Colston Hall, Burberry and Hachette Publishing, plus many more.

In 2o21, Arts Council England supported the delivery of a digital Discover! Creative Careers Week which took place in National Careers Week and saw the development of a suite of videos and resources that provide insight into a range of roles and sectors across the creative industries.
