500 employers across the creative industries will open their doors to young people this November

Taking place from 18 – 22 November, the brand-new Discover! Creative Careers Week will see 500 employers welcoming thousands of young people into their companies for the first national open doors week for the creative industries.

The England-wide event aims to inform and inspire local students aged 11+ about the types of roles and career pathways available across the creative industries so we can ensure the future demands of our world-leading sector are met by a strong and diverse workforce. Companies are offering a range of practical experiences, from workshops, demonstrations, interactive tours, panel discussions and ‘The Apprentice’ style challenges.

We’ve been absolutely thrilled by the enthusiasm demonstrated by employers to get involved, all of whom are leading a major shift in how the creative industries reach young and diverse talent. Companies signed up include: National Trust, BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Pinewood Studios, Northern Ballet & Phoenix Dance Theatre, Channel 4, Norwich Theatre Royal, Birmingham Museums Trust, Cockpit Arts, the Financial Times, Kudos TV, The National Archives, xsite Architecture, Royal Exchange Theatre Manchester, The Historic Dockyard Chatham, Colston Hall, Burberry and Hachette Publishing, plus many more.

The quotes from participating organisations below are just a few of the reasons why employers are getting involved:
